COURSES

BTS Dance Corp offers courses for varying styles of dance for all ages. Please see below the various courses offered. For specific levels and classes for each style, please see the Classes page. 

Jazz

Jazz is an energetic dance discipline using progressive jazz skills to create combinations and routines.  Classes involve warm-ups, centre work, as well as progression of jumps, and turns.  Students develop their own individual style along with latest dance styles and routines.  Jazz is a very high energy class with discipline and fun.
 


Tap

Tap You have always heard that your feet make the music, well in tap your feet are the music.  Classes will involve tap terminology, tap technique, basic tap skills, and intricate rhythms.  You will learn timing and coordination while developing rhythmic patterns.  If you love to hear your feet make noise and making your own music, tap is the discipline for you.
 


Ballet

Dancers will learn proper poise, posture, and technique.  Ballet is the basis for all dance disciplines and is instrumental in training for other dance disciplines including strength, balance, and control. BTS Dance corp works with the Ceccietti style ballet, certifying dancers through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association syllabus.



Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques and is a "cousin" to those styles. Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics in the chosen song.



Hip Hop

Hip hop dancing is physically demanding. Like any sport, it requires strength, flexibility, endurance, and control.  Hip Hop is a very high energy experience, and fun for all ages.  Each class will start with a fun cardio warm up that gets you into the groove.  This dance discipline is popular amongst all ages.



Acrobatic Dance

A dance discipline that combines dance and acrobatic elements.  Dancers can expect to achieve hand stands, cartwheels, elbow stands, walkovers and other acrobatic moves.  Dancers will gain strength, flexibility and control. BTS is working with Acrobatic Syllabus.
